Yet Another Million Dollar Homepage Copycat

I just stumbled upon another million dollar homepage type thing, but in order to maintain my journalistic integrity, I refuse to link to it, since doing so would only serve to contribute to its search engine ranking. OK, maybe it has nothing to do with journalistic integrity. I just don't want to participate, period.

The site lists the top 100 bidders. So far, 478 advertisers have spent over $11,000 to be there. The minimum bid is $30.01.

I wonder what the value of this sort of thing is for advertisers. It comes as no surprise that advertisers interested in establishing or maintaining any sense of brand value have not paid to be listed on the site (from what I can see, anyway). You will, however, find the likely suspects: Human Growth Hormone hucksters, SEO consultants, and today's top-ranking advertiser, SouthBay Software, makers of SuperCleaner Clear Internet History and Computer Cleaner (they paid $401 for that prized ranking).

Maybe I'm annoyed by this because it seems only to add to the Web's steady stream of poor quality advertising.

Or maybe I'm just jealous.

In my search this is the newest & quite possibly the best milliondollarwepage clone I have come across. Peoplw you to ask the creator of the milliondollarhomepage what keeps visitors coming back after they have already visited and he had no solid answer. Why bc the pages attention was because of it's 1 time stand out factor, but once u have seen it once, there is little need to go back. Well themysterybag.com gives user reason to come back numerous times over, how you ask? By offering prizes, the visitors to the site have the chance to win great prizes just for visiting. When you were a kid did u enjoy the where's Waldo type books, where you had to search the page for specific items? Well they have taken this to the next step. At WWW.THEMYSTERYBAG.COM you will have to search the pages to locate two hidden text field boxes( one to enter your name & one for your e-mail) and also a submit button. If u can find these 3 items u can submit your entry form in to the contests drawings that are held for great prizes. Locations of hidden items change often, so everytime you visit the page it's a new challenge! Next prize drawing is coming up soon, so u should check it out now!
